Chiefs

Who are Chiefs?

The Camp counselors (chiefs) are responsible for the progress and welfare of each camper in their assigned group. When a boy comes to Camp, he makes goals for himself. His chiefs will support and mentor the boy as he works on his goals. Chief is ready to give encouragement when a boy becomes discouraged with his goals. Each Chief is trained in First Aid, CPR and Safety Crisis Management. Every week they spend time in training to develop their child therapy skills.

Family Workers

Who are Family Workers?

The family workers are usually the first image of camp that our families see. After a child comes to camp the family worker’s job is to create a climate of understanding and communication between camp and the family. They work hard to help a family understand what their son is experiencing at camp through frequent calls and emails. Family workers are there to support families as they work on their goals and personal development.

Jon & Maria Miller

Jon served as a Counselor at Fairplay Wilderness Boys Camp in SC from 2008-2010. He moved to Bald Eagle Boys Camp in 2011 and served as a Groupwork Supervisor until 2015. He returned to Camp in 2023, with his wife and four children, to serve in the role of Family Worker.

Duane & Crissy Fisher

Duane & Crissy joined the staff team in May 2021. Duane spent two years at BEBC as a Group Chief before marrying Crissy. After a three year term in Liberia, they returned to Mill Hall and joined the staff team as Family Worker at Bald Eagle.

Secretaries

The secretaries are Camp’s voice to the public. They have the opportunity to make Camp the friendliest place in the state. They also do a tremendous amount of typing, newsletter layout and mailing, reports, financial records, shopping for supplies, and keeping staff and camper files in order.

Cooks

The cooks have the awesome opportunity to serve two dishes at once for each meal-one dish physical and one dish spiritual. Their ready smiles and words of encouragement go a long way to make Chuckwagon a great place to be. Besides making delicious meals, they do the food purchasing.

Maintenance

Our maintenance personnel have a unique opportunity to touch everyone’s life here at Camp. From fixing vehicles to doing boys’ laundry, from maintaining our 1 1/2 mile lane to transporting campers to doctor appointments, they are kept quite busy. They are responsible for the general upkeep of Camp.
